F. Principal's Report: Reviewed principal's report. Attendance stands at 124 currently at Piqua Catholic, while 54 students currently at the preschool. The principal's report noted the positive Cav Cash Store for behavior rewards, along with the newly purchased walkie-talkie system and the school's current PA system which has been restored.
G. Committee Reports: Ellen stated that she spoke with Sarah Kemmer, who was interested in joining the Strategic Planning comittee. Kyle Cooper agreed to be a part of the Finance committee.
1. Governance: nothing to report
2. Finance: Nothing to report. However, the committee will be meeting with Business Manager Jessica Rank prior to the next Board meeting to review the budget and individual line-items in question, along with an overall review to help determine where some issues may be.
3. Marketing: Cori reported on CIA activities, fundraising events. Noted that Catholic Schools week is last full week of January. The CIA's Craft Show & Holiday Shopping Event looks to generate a substantial buzz around the Piqua Community and there are already 40 vendors committed, in addition to booths for food, Scrip sales, face painting and a bake sale table. Volunteers are needed to make this event a success. Volunteers are needed to help with CIA fundraising activities in general, including with ongoing Scrip sales after Masses.
4. Strategic Planning: nothing to report
H. Comments from Members: Cori mentioned that the Lehman Partnership Group may be starting up again. This was a group that was originally jointly formed by members of Piqua Catholic, Holy Angels in Sidney and St. Patrick's in Troy as a way to brainstorm and figure out ways to support and Lehman High School's enrollment. The group dissipated some time ago, but may be looking to get started again and would be another positive thing for the Catholic schools' community.
I. Unfinished Business:
1. 2017-18 School Budget. Jessica Rank was in attendance at this meeting and answered questions about line items. The budget deficit still remains and is unchanged from the prior Board meeting date. Finance Committee members agreed at this meeting to sit down with Jessica to flesh out some of the issues.
J. New Business:
1. Committee Members for the Board of Education - in the past, the Board did have teachers on committees as teachers offer great insight into what goes on into the school. This may be beneficial for the PCS Board going forward.
2. School Strategic Plan - Piqua Catholic has a strategic planning document on paper, but has not necessarily put it into action. The strategic plan needs to be reviewed.
K. Comments of the Chair: Ellen thanked everyone for their help. Wednesday Dec 6 is the next meeting date at 6:30pm.
L. Concluding Prayer: Led by Fr Bolte, all recited Glory Be prayer.
