YOU’RE A STAR!!
For the third quarter of the 2022-23 school year, Mrs. Anita Polakowski has been chosen as our “Outstanding Staff Member of the Quarter.” Congratulations to Mrs. Polakowski!
“Ms. Anita” was born and raised in Poland. She moved to Canada where she attended Humber College in Toronto and obtained a bachelor's degree in Accounting. At Humber, she met a gentleman in her English class, Andy, who was also born and raised in Poland. Andy and Anita were married soon after and now have two beautiful girls, Karolina (19) and Aga is (16). They also have a Lab/Australian Shepherd dog, Samie, who is 9 years old.
Ms. Anita and her family came to the states and moved to Troy when her husband began his job at Panasonic. Ms.Anita enjoys life in the states, but does miss her family in Poland, as well as Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia!
Ms. Anita and her family love traveling to all of the United States National Parks. They have been hiking in several National Parks, such as Utah’s Bryce Park, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon and even Yellowstone National Park. Ms. Anita would also love to have the opportunity to go skydiving so she can experience God’s great creation from another vantage point.
She enjoys knitting, crocheting, zumba, and macrame. She discovered that she is pretty good with power tools when she had to help her daughter create a Rube Goldberg machine for a Science Olympiad project. This was a surprise to her!
To Ms. Anita there is nothing more rewarding than putting a smile on a student's face. Each year, on the first day of school, she likes to relax the students with music and dance (the Conga line is her favorite) to put the students at ease and make the first day of school a fun one. To Anita there may be challenges to the job but the love and affection she gets from the children every day makes it all worthwhile.
Congratulations, Ms. Anita for being chosen as our Outstanding Staff Member of the Quarter!
