YOU’RE A STAR!!
Every quarter, Piqua Catholic School chooses a student who goes above and beyond, not just academically, but through leadership and exemplary faith and compassion for their peers. So, we thought, “Why not do the same thing for our amazing teachers and staff?!”
For the second quarter of the 2022-23 school year, Mrs. Amanda Yant has been chosen as our “Outstanding Staff Member of the Quarter.” Congratulations to Mrs. Yant!
Mrs. Yant graduated from Miami East High School in 2006 and was hired on to be an Ohio State FFA Officer where she traveled to other high schools in Ohio to review their programs and monitor the FFA Agricultural classes. How cool is that?
Mrs. Yant met her husband Jon at a graduation party, and they were married less than a year later. Jon joined the Marines and was eventually stationed in Japan, while Amanda stayed in Ohio and worked for Piqua City Schools as a Summer School Aide and Registration Secretary before moving on to work at the Piqua Public Library in their Children's Department.
When Jon was then transferred back to Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, Amanda joined him there where they lived several years before moving back to Ohio.
Jon and Amanda have been married for 15 years and have three children who all attend Piqua Catholic. Carey is in the 7th grade; Elizabeth is in the 1st grade and Anderson is in kindergarten. Plus, their Basset Hound, Noel makes for a full house!
Mrs. Yant and her family like to visit museums around the area and their favorite is the Cincinnati Museum Center. This summer they are planning a family trip out West to Yellowstone. Amanda and her husband Jon love to take small trips on their motorcycle when the weather turns nice, but Mrs. Yant's true love is shopping for back-to-school supplies, she loves a good bargain!
When Mrs. Yant was younger, she would pretend her stuffed animals were students and she was the teacher. Although she is not in the classroom, she always knew that was where she wanted to be, was in a school and Piqua Catholic is blessed to have her!
Congratulations, Mrs. Yant on being chosen as our Outstanding Staff Member of the Quarter!
